Financial Controller

As Financial Controller, you will lead the company's financial operations and help ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting across the business. This role is key to maintaining strong financial governance while supporting business growth, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee accounting, reporting, compliance, audit, internal controls, and finance operations across five legal entities in the United States, Canada, Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom. The role also includes people leadership responsibilities, with direct reports within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), Revenue Recognition, and Cost Accounting.
  • Manage and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Maintain the quality and integrity of financial transactions, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and applicable financial reporting standards, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
  • Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, regulatory filings, and internal and external audit activities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage cash flow reporting and forecasting, payroll review processes, and reporting requirements to parent entities.
  • Analyze key financial and operational metrics, including working capital, operational efficiency, profitability, and EBITDA.
  • Partner with business leaders and group finance teams to support decision-making and business performance.
  • Support revenue forecasting, sales pipeline analysis, and commission calculations.
  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including variance analysis and business performance reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes, systems, controls, and reporting capabilities.
  • Lead or participate in finance system implementations and enhancements, including ERP and forecasting tools.
  • Coach, develop, and support finance team members while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Ensure effective financial oversight and consistency of processes across the company's five legal entities: United States, Canada, Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Additional certifications or training in IFRS, Taxation, Audit, or related areas are beneficial.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
  • Experience managing accounting, reporting, and financial close processes in a multi-entity environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead financial reporting, planning, analysis, and governance activities.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing finance professionals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and geographies.
  • Experience driving process improvements, strengthening controls, and implementing system enhancements.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in their country of residence.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required. Travel is expected to represent a small percentage of working time (approximately 10% or less).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across multiple countries and time zones.
