About The Role

Are you a part-qualified finance professional who enjoys getting under the skin of the numbers, but is equally interested in what the data can tell us? Do you have strong Power BI, Excel and data analysis skills and want to combine your finance knowledge with data, reporting and business insight? Are you looking for a role where you can continue your professional qualification, build real FP&A experience and get involved in the integration of acquisitions across an international business?

This is a great opportunity to join APEM’s FP&A team at a time when the business is growing rapidly, both organically and through acquisition. We’re looking for someone who understands finance and financial analysis, but who also has the curiosity and technical capability to work with data, turning complex information into reporting, insight and better business decisions.

The role sits at the intersection of finance, data and transformation. You’ll take ownership of financial and operational reporting datasets, develop and improve Power BI dashboards, automate reporting and provide analysis to support budgeting, forecasting and performance management.

You’ll work closely with FP&A, Financial Controls, Finance Operations and Systems teams, helping to improve the quality, accessibility and usefulness of financial information across the business.

There’s also a significant project element to the role. With APEM’s acquisition pipeline you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in finance integration work, helping bring new businesses, systems, datasets and reporting structures together. This means this isn’t a role where you’ll simply build dashboards and report the numbers. You’ll be helping solve problems, connect data and finance processes, and make change happen. The work is international, so there may be opportunities for travel and, at times, some flexibility around working hours to collaborate with teams in different time zones.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We’re particularly interested in someone who is part-qualified and wants to continue progressing their qualification. APEM will support the right person through to qualification, with the role then offering the opportunity to develop further into pure FP&A and broader commercial finance, alongside the ongoing data and analytical work and the needs of the business. It’s a role that can therefore evolve significantly as you develop.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Part-qualified accountant status, with a genuine ambition to complete your professional qualification.
  • Experience in management accounts, financial analysis, management information or a similar finance environment.
  • Strong data analysis skills and an ability to work confidently with large or complex datasets.
  • Strong Power BI capability, including data modelling, DAX and dashboard development.
  • Advanced Excel and Power Query skills.
  • An understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and wider FP&A processes.
  • The ability to investigate data issues, reconcile information and identify the underlying cause of problems rather than simply reporting them.
  • A natural curiosity about how finance data is structured, where it comes from and how it can be improved.
  • The ability to translate a business or finance question into a practical analytical or reporting solution.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with finance, systems and wider business stakeholders.
  • A willingness to get involved in projects and integration activity, rather than being purely focused on BAU reporting.
  • The flexibility to work with international teams, including occasional travel and some adjustment to working hours where required.
