Finance Director, PE-Backed Manufacturing Business, Leeds
£150,000-£175,000 + package
We are searching for an exceptional Finance Director to join a Private Equity backed manufacturing business based in Leeds, at a pivotal stage of its development.
The business has an ambitious agenda encompassing transformation, operational improvement, growth and M&A, and we need an FD capable of playing a central role in delivering it.
Working closely with the CEO as a genuine number two, you'll combine strategic and commercial leadership with the ability to get under the skin of the operational and financial performance of a manufacturing business.
The opportunity:
- Partner the CEO on strategy, performance and key commercial decisions
- Lead a significant finance and business transformation agenda
- Drive improvements in reporting, forecasting, controls and financial visibility across the manufacturing operation
- Bring greater commercial and operational insight to decision making, from the boardroom to the shop floor
- Identify opportunities to improve margin, cash, working capital and overall performance
- Build, develop and lead a high performing finance function
- Work closely with the Private Equity investor and Board
- Support M&A activity, including evaluation, due diligence and integration
- Help create the infrastructure and disciplines required to support future growth and value creation

What we're looking for:
- Experience operating within PE backed manufacturing or industrial businesses, and a real understanding of the pace, expectations and performance focus that come with Private Equity ownership
- Previous exposure to M&A and post acquisition integration
- Equal credibility in the boardroom and on the shop floor
- The ability to challenge the CEO one minute and interrogate manufacturing and operational performance the next
- A track record of ensuring the business actually delivers the change required
