SRM Search are delighted to be partnering with this investor-backed, East Sussex-based manufacturing business, who are seeking a Finance Director to join the team in a newly created role at an exciting stage of its development. The organisation is now focused on the next phase of growth, with a clear need for strong financial leadership, commercial insight and thoughtful decision-making support.
Working closely with the CEO, Board and Senior Leadership Team, this role will play a key part in strengthening forecasting, cash control, governance and overall business performance. It offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to make a real impact in a part-time capacity, while helping shape the future of a growing and ambitious business.
Key Responsibilities for the Finance Director:
- Provide strategic financial leadership, insight and challenge across the business.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board and leadership team.
- Improve forecasting, scenario planning and long-range business planning.
- Strengthen cash flow management, working capital control and financial discipline.
- Enhance board reporting, investor communication and commercial decision support.
- Oversee budgeting, financial performance monitoring and profitability improvement.
- Support pricing, investment appraisal and strategic decision-making.
- Lead statutory reporting, audit, tax and compliance activities.
- Manage banking and external stakeholder relationships.
- Coach and develop the finance team, supporting capability building and succession planning.

What We’re Looking For
We are keen to hear from qualified accountants who bring significant senior finance leadership experience within a growing, changing or high-potential organisation. You will likely have:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience as a Finance Director.
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.
- Confidence contributing at Board level and challenging constructively.
- Strong commercial acumen and a collaborative approach to business partnering.
- Experience working with auditors, tax advisers and banking partners.
- A people-focused leadership style with a track record of developing others.

Experience in manufacturing, engineering, product-led or investor-backed businesses would be advantageous, desirable would exposure to debt structures, refinancing, fundraising or corporate transactions.
