Hays is partnering with a major global organisation to recruit an experienced Interim Finance Director into a large-scale, international finance function.

This is a senior leadership assignment with responsibility for complex, multi-entity finance services across multiple markets, combining operational delivery with a significant finance transformation and digital agenda.

Your new role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take end-to-end ownership of finance service delivery, ensuring operations remain efficient, controlled and compliant while driving transformation across people, processes and technology.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading large-scale finance services across multiple countries and legal entities.
  • Driving finance transformation, process optimisation, automation and standardisation.
  • Overseeing key finance processes including Record to Report, P2P, Intercompany, Lease Accounting and Tax.
  • Ensuring strong financial controls, IFRS compliance, SOX controls and proactive risk management.
  • Leading geographically dispersed and cross-cultural teams.
  • Driving productivity improvements, efficiencies and sustainable cost savings.
  • Supporting ERP and wider digital finance transformation programmes.
  • Managing relationships with senior stakeholders, Finance Directors, external BPO providers and service-line leaders.
  • Maintaining high-quality service delivery while implementing significant organisational and process change.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an established finance leader with significant experience operating within a large, complex, global organisation and a strong background in finance shared services / finance operations.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACA/CA or ACCA.
  • Significant leadership experience within complex international finance operations.
  • Strong end-to-end finance services and shared services experience.
  • Proven finance transformation and change management experience.
  • Experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong process optimisation, automation and ERP transformation exposure.
  • Experience within the telecommunications sector.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A highly commercial, customer-focused approach to finance service delivery.
