Goodman Masson are working with a fast-growing financial services business that is entering an exciting new phase of its growth. The business has significant institutional backing and ambitious plans to continue expanding its platform and product offering.
This is a genuinely broad Finance Director position, offering the opportunity to lead the Finance function while playing a significant role in the wider direction of the business. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Committee, you will have a strong voice in strategic decision-making across funding, capital structure, financial governance and future growth.
The business has continued to scale its funding arrangements and investor base, creating increasing complexity across its Finance function. The role offers the opportunity to shape the Finance infrastructure of a growing financial institution, strengthening controls and governance while ensuring the business remains well positioned for its next stage of development.
Alongside leading the day-to-day Finance function, you will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on fundraising and investor activity, while acting as a key point of contact for auditors and regulators.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Finance function, setting the direction, standards and priorities as the business continues to grow;
- Provide financial leadership to the CEO and Executive Committee, contributing to wider commercial and strategic decisions;
- Take overall responsibility for the Group's financial reporting, controls and governance framework;
- Lead the annual audit process and manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring any findings are addressed effectively;
- Oversee the financial reporting and accounting implications of the Group's increasingly sophisticated funding structures;
- Work closely with the Capital Markets team on the Finance aspects of funding lines and structured finance arrangements;
- Support the CEO through equity raises and investor activity, providing the financial analysis, technical accounting input and credibility required throughout the process;
- Maintain strong financial governance across the Group, including regulatory capital, solvency and FCA reporting requirements;
- Oversee month-end, management reporting, budgeting and financial planning for the Group;
- Continue to develop the Finance function, processes and infrastructure as the organisation scales.

Key Requirements
- ACA qualified, trained in audit with 8+ years' post-qualified experience, including significant industry experience within banking, specialist lending or a relevant financial services environment;
- Strong technical understanding of structured finance, financial instruments and complex funding arrangements;
- A track record of owning financial control and external audit relationships within a regulated environment;
- Experience leading and developing a finance team;
- Comfortable operating at Executive Committee level and acting as a senior adviser to the CEO and wider leadership team;
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements including capital adequacy, solvency and regulatory reporting;
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to represent the business with auditors, investors and regulators;
- Comfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment where you can build and improve processes rather than simply inherit them;
- Experience supporting equity fundraising would be advantageous.
