Join IO Interactive’s Finance team at our Copenhagen Studio as Finance Director

Play a key role in shaping the financial direction of a multi-studio, multi-entity games company. You will lead the Finance function, drive the automation of the finance processes, and act as the CFO's trusted partner and second-in-command. Responsible for the day-to-day leadership of Finance while providing strategic, financial, and commercial guidance that supports IO Interactive's continued growth across all studios.

What you will do

Finance Leadership

  • Lead the day-to-day Finance organisation across IO Interactive's global studios.
  • Manage, drive, mentor, and develop Finance team members while building a high-performing and collaborative function.
  • Drive the ongoing project of full automation of the finance process.
  • Act as the CFO's right-hand and trusted sparring partner on both operational and strategic matters.
  • Ensure strong financial governance, controls, compliance, and scalable finance processes across the organisation.

Financial & Business Leadership

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning across all studios and entities.
  • Provide strategic financial insight and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership team.
  • Translate financial and operational performance into clear actions and business recommendations.
  • Support decision-making related to investments, headcount planning, studio growth and organisational development.
  • Partner with Production, Commercial, Technology and Corporate leadership on financial performance and business priorities.
  • Drive performance management through meaningful reporting, KPIs and financial analysis.

Controlling & Governance

  • Upscale and improve Financial and Business controlling.
  • Oversee Accounting, Financial Controlling and Business Controlling activities across the organisation.
  • Ensure accurate management reporting and financial visibility across studios, projects and functions.
  • Oversee external audits, statutory compliance, and financial risk management.
  • Support finance transformation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Who you are

  • Significant experience in a senior Finance leadership role.
  • Strong background across Accounting, Financial Controlling and Business Controlling.
  • Experience leading and driving Finance teams in a complex international organisation.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence strategic business decisions.
  • Experience partnering with executive stakeholders and senior leadership teams.
  • Excellent understanding of financial reporting, governance, planning, and performance management.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to operate as a trusted advisor.

We would love it if you had

  • Experience working in the gaming industry.
  • Previous experience in an audit firm earlier in your career.
  • Experience supporting multi-studio, multi-entity, or international organisations.
  • Experience with ERP transformations.
  • Experience with Unit4 or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with Prophix or similar systems.
  • Accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CMA or equivalent.
