Finance Director - FinTech - Payments

Excellent opportunity opens for an experienced Finance Director to join a high-growth London FinTech operating in the Payments and Banking Platform space. You’ll take ownership of financial control in a complex, high-volume transaction environment, working closely with product and operations while supporting the business through an upcoming transaction. Ideal for someone with strong payments, card, or banking product experience who wants real exposure in a fast-moving, commercially driven firm. You will work closely with C-Suite, and have a direct impact on the business direction.

You will sit close to the business, dealing with real transaction flow, reconciling large volumes of money movement, and supporting a company going through a likely transaction.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own all aspects of financial control, reporting, and forecasting.
  • Manage the Finance Manager / outsourced bookkeeping and accounting providers; ensure timely, accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital.
  • Perform financial monitoring and reconciliations related to the B2C prepaid card product, including transaction-level checks and reconciliation between card processors and accounting records.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of interchange fee structures and how they impact financial performance and reporting.
  • Ensure tax compliance (corporation tax, VAT, PAYE, etc.) and manage filings, working with external advisors where needed.
  • Build and continuously improve finance processes, policies, and internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting packs for internal stakeholders and board.
  • Support the C-suite in financial modelling and planning for future fundraising rounds.
  • Assist in maintaining investor-ready financial models
  • Prepare due diligence materials and liaise with external parties during funding processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
