We are supporting a high-growth technology business based in London who are looking for a Finance Director to join their leadership team at an exciting stage of growth.

This is a commercially focused FD role for someone who can combine strong financial expertise with sound judgement, commercial challenge and a robust approach to risk and compliance.

Working closely with the founder and leadership team, you'll have a genuine voice in how the business grows. You'll be expected to challenge when needed, ask the difficult questions and ensure commercial ambition is balanced with appropriate financial discipline and governance.

The role

This is a broad FD position with responsibility for the financial strategy and performance of the business, alongside its financial controls, governance and compliance.

You'll act as a trusted partner to the founder, providing clear insight and constructive challenge across key business decisions.

The ideal candidate won't simply report the numbers. They'll be confident enough to challenge decisions where there is unnecessary financial, regulatory or commercial risk, and will be able to explain the rationale clearly.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the financial strategy, planning and performance of the business
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting
  • Provide clear commercial insight to the founder and leadership team
  • Act as a strong financial and commercial challenge to key business decisions
  • Identify, assess and manage financial, commercial and operational risk
  • Maintain robust financial controls, processes and governance
  • Take ownership of finance-related compliance and ensure appropriate standards are maintained as the business scales
  • Ensure the business has appropriate policies, controls and reporting in place
  • Build financial models to support strategic decisions and investment
  • Provide oversight of profitability, cash and business performance
  • Manage relationships with external accountants, advisers and other professional partners
  • Support the founder in making informed decisions while ensuring risks are properly understood
  • Help build the financial infrastructure required to support continued growth

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
