Would you like to work directly with project leadership, institutional investors, lenders and shareholders on the development of strategically important cross-border electricity infrastructure?
Turner Lovell, specialist recruiters and Talent Advisors across the energy and power infrastructure sectors, are supporting the appointment of a Finance Director for a major HVDC link.
Our client is an international developer of cross-border transmission infrastructure, combining deep transmission-system expertise with a commercially driven project development approach. Backed by experienced infrastructure shareholders and long-term institutional capital, the organisation is developing strategically important assets designed to strengthen security of supply, increase electricity trading capability and enable greater integration of renewable generation.
The project is entering a critical stage of development, and the Finance Director will join the senior leadership team with direct responsibility for creating the financial strategy, governance and funding framework required to progress through development, Final Investment Decision and construction.
Your Role

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
