Finance Director

Manufacturing, Permanent - Wiltshire

The Siena Partnership is supporting a sub £20m manufacturing business in Wiltshire with the appointment of a Finance Director ahead of its acquisition by a well-known private equity investor.

This is a pivotal, board-level role with responsibility for leading the finance function and helping shape the business through its next stage of growth. Operating within a lean team, the Finance Director must be equally comfortable setting the financial strategy, partnering with the board and investors, and remaining close to the detail.

  • Lead the finance function and manage a small, hands-on team.
  • Deliver accurate monthly reporting, budgets, forecasts, and board packs.
  • Provide meaningful commercial insight to the board and incoming investors.
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes, and reporting following the transaction.
  • Drive cash-flow, working-capital, and inventory management.
  • Improve visibility across margins, product costing, and operational performance.
  • Support the post-deal value-creation plan and wider strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee statutory reporting, audit, tax, and compliance requirements.

Candidate profile

  • Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Technically strong, with ownership of financial reporting, controls, and compliance.
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or a related operational environment.
  • Commercially astute and capable of acting as a true business partner to the board.
  • Comfortable working in a small business with limited resources and a lean finance team.
  • Able to move confidently between strategic priorities and hands-on delivery.
  • Previous private equity or transaction experience would be highly advantageous.
