Finance Director
Salary: Circa £130,000, company bonus up to 30% and company car
Location: Warwick, UK

As Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Volvo Financial Services UK & Ireland, working alongside the Managing Director and Senior Management Team to shape and deliver the business strategy. Leading the Finance function across financial performance, planning, accounting, treasury, tax, governance and compliance, while providing the commercial insight and challenge that supports confident business decisions.

Who are you?
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance leader with significant senior leadership experience. With a strong track record operating at Finance Director level within financial services, commercial vehicle finance or a comparable environment.

You will bring:
- A strong understanding of UK and Ireland financial markets, funding and capital markets, alongside deep knowledge of IFRS, financial planning, modelling, reporting and business analysis
- A professional accountancy qualification, such as CIMA or ACCA
- Proven leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams and work effectively with senior stakeholders
- Confidence to challenge established thinking, influence stakeholders and turn financial insight into meaningful commercial action
- A strong understanding of risk, governance, tax and financial services regulation, with the judgement to balance commercial opportunity with sound financial control
- A passion for transformation and continuous improvement, with an appetite for technology, automation and data-driven
Key areas of responsibility
- Oversee financial planning, month-end reporting, financial statements, P&L performance, tax, balance sheet optimisation, capital allocation and returns
- Drive balance sheet optimisation and capital allocation, ensuring we maximise sustainable financial returns
- Develop and manage competitive funding strategies and cash management, working closely with VFS Global Capital Markets and Volvo Treasury
- Strengthen business intelligence and reporting capabilities, turning complex financial data into recommendations that support strategic and commercial decision-making
- Establish and monitor business, operational and financial KPIs, using performance data to identify opportunities for improvement
- Assess commercial opportunities and risks, including residual values, credit quality and wider market conditions
- Maintain strong governance, compliance and internal controls across the business
- Lead and develop the Finance, Tax and Treasury team, building capability and supporting high performance
- Drive digital transformation within Finance, using technologies such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps and AI to improve reporting, automation and decision-making
You will lead and develop the Finance team, with direct reports including the Financial Controller, Business Control & Transformation Managers and Business Control & Transformation Analysts. You will build capability, create an environment where people can embrace change and perform at their best.
