Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be supporting a highly successful and rapidly growing manufacturing business in the appointment of a Finance Director. This is a confidential opportunity to join a well-established organisation with an excellent reputation, ambitious growth plans and a strong market position within its sector.
Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the business, driving performance and ensuring the organisation is well positioned for sustainable long-term growth.
Your new role
As Finance Director, you will be responsible for leading the finance function and providing strategic financial leadership across the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering the financial strategy to support business growth and profitability.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, providing commercial insight, challenge and decision support.
- Leading long-term financial planning, forecasting, scenario modelling and investment appraisal activities.
- Supporting key business decisions relating to product development, pricing, capital investment and operational performance.
- Maintaining robust financial governance, controls, compliance and risk management frameworks.
- Overseeing statutory reporting, audit processes and regulatory requirements.
- Providing commercial analysis around customer profitability, product investment and growth opportunities.
- Driving continuous improvement, automation and strengthened financial processes across the business.
- Leading, mentoring and developing a high-performing finance team.
- Partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to position finance as a proactive commercial business partner.
- Supporting strategic projects, operational efficiency initiatives and future expansion opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a proven track record operating as a Finance Director or senior finance leader within a manufacturing environment.
You will also demonstrate:
- Previous experience within manufacturing or a similar production-led business.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence decision-making at board level.
- Experience operating within ambitious, fast-paced and entrepreneurial organisations.
- A strategic mindset balanced with a hands-on approach when required.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to develop high-performing teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
