Director of Finance – Part Time

North East England
£60,000 FTE
22 hours per week
ASAP start

NRG is recruiting for a part-time Director of Finance to join a North East organisation at an important stage of its development.

Reporting to the CEO/COO and working closely with the Board and Executive Leadership Team, this is a senior leadership position with responsibility for providing strategic financial direction, maintaining strong financial governance and supporting the organisation’s long-term growth and sustainability.

The successful candidate will lead the finance function and take responsibility for financial strategy, budgeting and forecasting, management and Board reporting, financial controls, audit and compliance, cash flow and risk management. You will also provide commercial insight to support investment decisions, organisational performance and future growth.

You will also play a key role in developing the wider organisation, working with senior stakeholders and supporting commercial opportunities, funding activity and strategic projects.

About you

We are looking for a fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent – with significant senior financial leadership experience.

You will ideally have experience of:

  • Operating at Director, Head of Finance or senior Financial Controller level
  • Working closely with Boards and Executive Leadership Teams
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Financial governance, controls, risk and compliance
  • Leading and developing a finance team
  • Providing commercial and strategic financial insight
  • Managing change and supporting organisational growth
  • Working with grant funding, public funding or multiple income streams would be particularly valuable
