The Opportunity
Hays Senior Finance are partnering exclusively with a highly successful and rapidly growing services business with revenues exceeding £70m. Looking to take on an experienced and commercially minded Finance Director to join its leadership team.
This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of a dynamic organisation that has ambitious growth plans and a strong market position. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Director will provide strategic financial leadership while maintaining ownership of the day-to-day finance function.
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable operating at board level, influencing business strategy, and leading operational finance activities to ensure robust financial control, governance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Partner with the executive team to provide commercial insight that supports key business decisions and future growth.
- Drive strategic planning and long-term business performance initiatives.
- Enhance financial controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes.
- Lead process improvement and finance transformation projects to increase efficiency, scalability, and insight.
- Support investment decisions through robust financial modelling and analysis.
- Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance across the business.
- Develop meaningful KPI reporting to drive operational and commercial performance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and wider leadership team.

About You
We are seeking a commercially focused Finance Director who combines strong technical finance expertise with a proactive and forward-thinking approach. You will ideally possess:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience operating in a senior finance leadership role within a growing organisation.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence strategic decision-making.
- Experience leading and developing finance teams.
- A track record of improving processes, controls, governance, and reporting frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to balance strategic initiatives with operational delivery.
- Experience supporting growth, change, and business transformation programmes.
