Meraki Talent have been appointed to conduct a retained search assignment for a permanent Finance Director based in Edinburgh with hybrid working paying £90,000 plus equity & a competitive benefits package.
The Opportunity

With continued investment supporting growth across both domestic and international markets, the organisation is entering an exciting stage of its development, creating significant opportunities to scale, broaden its reach and build on an already strong platform.
The Role
Working closely with the Managing Director and private equity investors, the Finance Director will sit at the heart of strategic decision-making, helping to shape the direction of the business and support the delivery of its growth ambitions. This is a highly commercial leadership position requiring an individual who can provide financial insight, influence key decisions and work collaboratively with both management and investors to maximise the opportunities ahead.
The Finance Director will take ownership of the finance function through a combination of direct, hands-on leadership across commercial and operational finance, alongside oversight of core finance activities delivered through the existing team.
Direct ownership
- Influencing strategic objectives and business direction through effective business partnering
- Production and presentation of monthly management and Board reporting packs
- Creation and continued development of KPIs, dashboards and performance metrics
- Ownership of commercial and operational finance activities
- Ownership of FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Ownership of working capital management, cash flow forecasting and analysis

Leadership & Oversight
- Oversight of financial reporting, financial control, governance, risk and compliance
- Leadership and oversight of month-end and transactional finance, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control and payroll
Becoming CFO
There is a clear opportunity for the role to evolve into a Chief Financial Officer position. Equally, given the profile being sought, a rising star with significant ambition, drive and career aspirations, the employer recognises that the successful individual may ultimately outgrow the opportunity, with a realistic tenure potentially being in the region of 3 to 5 years. Should that be the case, the employer would view this as a successful outcome for both parties, with the individual having made a significant contribution to the business while developing the experience and credentials to take the next step in their own career.

What You'll Bring
This role will typically fit a 1st time Finance Director, or a Finance Director with 0-2 years in-post experience. The employer is keen to engage with candidates that match the below experience:
- Qualified Accountant with 5-10+ years post qualification experience - ESSENTIAL
- Can demonstrate tangible outcomes & achievements within a financial management/leadership roles
- A minimum of 2 years spent within an Accountancy Firm/Practice in restructuring/corporate finance/transaction services and/or direct private equity experience
