Your role at Husqvarna

  • Management of the UK finance teams, in the delivery of support to the 4 divisions (Husqvarna, Consumer, Construction & Gardena c£150m revenue, with the addition of the factory c£100m)
  • They will take full responsibility for leading all financial accounting, treasury and taxation functions for the site
  • Lead the preparation of year-end accounts and work with external auditors to complete the statutory accounts
  • Commercial Partner to the Leadership Team, working closely with Sales in particular
  • Manage all UK external advisory relationships i.e. tax, audit, etc
  • Continuous improvement of systems & processes including management of internal controls
  • Monthly reporting into Group (Sweden)
  • Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) – SMF29 approval required in order to conduct leasing activities in the UK (HCS). Management of HCS project for launching Husqvarna Commercial Solutions in the UK.
  • Pension Trustee – experienced pension trustee to act as a Company Appointed Trustee for the HULPS Defined Benefits Pension Scheme.
  • Tax - Understanding of Group tax structure for Principal, Distribution and Manufacturing arrangements and knowledge of local and international transfer pricing implications.
  • Tax / Treasury – Knowledge of legal entity equity and financing requirements, and dividend distribution policy.
  • Tax / Customs – experience and knowledge of import and export requirements, including changes introduced by Brexit.
  • Acquisitions – integration of Blastrac BV’s UK branch 2021/ TDP acquisition 2023

Additional Skills/Qualifications Required

  • Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified. Competent technically, practice trained a bonus.
  • Leadership: The appropriate candidate will be established at leadership level, has a presence and respected by their peers. Strong people management and development skills, able to inject some positivity into the team and develop team culture. They are expected to be comfortable operating independently, can make decisions and thrive with autonomy
  • Commercial: Commercial experience is essential. Suitable candidates will have a strategic and commercial mindset as well as a track record of working closely with Sales teams providing financial steer to the business
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability and desire to work in partnership with peers. Must be able to share their opinion, guide colleagues, implement ideas and challenge where appropriate
  • Change: Change and reorganization experience would be beneficial. No fundamental change anticipated but an ability to refine and improve how the team operates will be advantageous
  • Systems: Knowledge of JD Edwards would be beneficial, but not essential. Other systems experience, such as SAP, will suffice
  • Sector: Manufacturing or commercial industries would be beneficial but not essential. The incoming candidate must be comfortable working in an organisation of the scale of Husqvarna, which is likely to have come from past experience
