About the Role
Finance Director – Europe & UK for a multi-billion-dollar global organisation operating across the manufacturing, industrial and supply chain sectors. This is a senior regional leadership position with responsibility for the financial performance, governance and strategic direction of a significant European and UK operation spanning multiple manufacturing sites, distribution centres and commercial business units.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Europe & UK, with a dotted line to the Group CFO, the Finance Director will operate as a key member of the regional executive leadership team.
This is not simply a reporting and controls position. We are looking for a commercially minded finance leader who can combine strong financial governance with strategic business partnering, operational improvement, investment decision-making and leadership across a complex multinational environment.
The Mandate
The Finance Director will take end-to-end responsibility for the regional finance function and act as a strategic partner to the Regional SVP and wider leadership team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Strategic Finance & P&L Leadership
- Own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management across Europe and the UK.
- Partner with regional leadership to improve profitability, margins, cash generation and return on investment.
- Translate financial and operational data into clear commercial recommendations for senior leadership.
- Challenge business performance constructively and identify opportunities for sustainable growth and efficiency.
M&A, Capex & Strategic Investment
- Provide financial leadership for regional acquisitions, joint ventures, market expansion and other strategic investments.
- Lead and support financial due diligence, feasibility modelling, investment appraisal and post-acquisition integration.
- Assess major capital expenditure programmes and ensure disciplined investment decision-making.
- Work closely with Group Finance and other corporate functions on tax structuring and strategic transactions.

Operational Finance & Margin Improvement
- Work closely with manufacturing, operations, commercial and procurement leaders to improve financial performance.
- Identify opportunities across cost of goods, supply chain, procurement, productivity and working capital.
- Partner with Procurement on supplier strategy, cost optimisation and commercial negotiations.
- Establish clear financial visibility across sites, business units and regional operations.
Governance, Controls & Risk
- Maintain the integrity of regional balance sheets, management accounts and statutory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable UK and European statutory accounting requirements.
- Maintain robust internal controls across tax, treasury, audit and financial reporting.
- Oversee regional cash management, foreign exchange, credit and financial risk.
- Maintain strong relationships with auditors, tax advisers and relevant external stakeholders.
Leadership & Organisational Development
- Lead and develop multi-disciplinary finance teams across the UK and Continental Europe.
- Build a high-performing, commercially focused finance organisation capable of partnering effectively with the wider business.
- Develop succession plans and strengthen financial capability across the region.
- Create consistency in financial processes, reporting and decision-making across multiple countries and operating entities.
Who We Are Looking For
We are interested in established finance leaders who have operated within complex, international and operationally intensive businesses.
You are likely to bring:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline; MBA advantageous.
- 12+ years of progressive finance experience within a large multinational or international organisation.
- At least 3–5 years operating at Finance Director, Regional Finance Director, Divisional FD or equivalent senior leadership level.
- Significant experience managing a sizeable P&L and partnering directly with senior operational and commercial executives.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, statutory reporting, audit, controls, corporate taxation and treasury.
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, supply chain, distribution or another operationally complex environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable experience improving margins, managing costs and strengthening working capital performance.
- Exposure to M&A, due diligence, integration, business cases and/or significant capital investment programmes.
- Experience leading finance teams across multiple countries or legal entities.
- Strong ERP, financial systems and business intelligence capability.

Leadership Profile
Technical finance capability is essential, but it will not be enough on its own.
We are looking for someone who can operate confidently at executive level while remaining close enough to the business to understand what is driving performance.
The successful individual will be:
- Commercial – able to look beyond the numbers and influence business decisions.
- Strategic – capable of balancing immediate financial performance with longer-term investment and growth.
- Operational – comfortable engaging with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement and commercial leadership.
- Influential – credible with regional executives, Group Finance and operational stakeholders.
- Hands-on when required – able to move between board-level discussion and detailed financial analysis.
- Internationally minded – comfortable leading across different countries, cultures and operating environments.
- Change-oriented – able to improve processes, challenge established thinking and raise the capability of the finance function.
Location & Package
Location: London, UK – hybrid working with regional travel as required
Base Salary: £130,000–£150,000
Additional Compensation: Executive bonus and comprehensive benefits package
Employment: Permanent, full-time
