The Company

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an accomplished and highly motivated finance leader to make a significant contribution to the growth and development of this ambitious and progressive automotive group. Our client is one of the fastest growing and most innovative brands in this arena, with a first class reputation for the supply and service of market leading high technology products, great people and a real passion for customer satisfaction and service excellence. With the Group on a steep growth curve to £1bn by 2030, and with major expansion opportunities in the UK, a commercially focused Finance Director is required to lead the UK finance function, whilst also playing a major part in the wider commercial and financial growth of the Group.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Group CFO, and a key member of the SLT, responsibility will be for the leadership and development of a highly professional and organised finance function across the Group’s UK entities, with a combined projected revenue of c.£500m. You will build a strong team, delivering timely and accurate information to the UK business and Group, along with subject matter expertise and strong financial control. In addition, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the UK and Group leadership teams, providing strategic and tactical financial insights and guidance, leveraging your financial expertise to empower decision-making and enhance performance, contributing to the overall financial success of the UK organisation and the wider Group. Monthly and annual reporting, budgets and forecasts, statutory compliance and ownership of the UK audit will also feature high on your agenda.

About You

We are looking for a first class, high integrity finance leader, a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) skilled in operating at Board level and with significant experience leading and developing a growing finance function in an automotive, motor trade, commercial vehicle or associated setting. Your core expertise will be in the strategic, tactical and operational leadership of a modern finance department, where robust financial systems and controls deliver enhanced commercial value and growth. Engaging and collaborative in style, success in this role will depend on your ability to build effective relationships across the business. You’ll be a team player, proactive and in the detail, with the credibility and presence to influence outcomes, and the drive, ambition and enthusiasm to play a key part in the future development of this fast-growing, progressive Group.
