We're seeking a volunteer Finance Director
We're seeking volunteer a Finance Director to help shape the future of our growing Community Interest Company. Use your professional expertise to strengthen our Board and help more children, families, educators and communities thrive through education, wellbeing and nature.

It will enable us to provide more inclusive opportunities for children and families, improve wellbeing through nature-based learning, strengthen educational practice through consultancy and training, and ensure that our organisation continues to thrive for years to come.

What are we looking for?
We're looking for people who are passionate about making a positive difference and who share our commitment to improving outcomes for children, families, educators and communities.
For our Finance Director role, we're particularly interested in people with experience in finance, accountancy, bookkeeping, financial management or strategic financial planning. Experience of budgeting, financial forecasting, cashflow management, financial reporting or providing financial scrutiny at board or senior management level would be highly valued.
We'd love to hear from people who can think strategically, offer constructive challenge, work collaboratively and bring fresh ideas to Board discussions. Previous board or trustee experience is welcomed but is not essential. We value diverse perspectives and recognise that skills gained through professional or voluntary roles can be equally valuable.
Above all, we're looking for Directors who are committed to our values, excited by our vision for the future and keen to use their expertise to help our organisation grow sustainably and increase its impact.

What will you be doing?
Journeys, Leaves & Seeds C.I.C. is entering an exciting stage of development. Over the past three years we have grown from a small community organisation into an established provider of nature-based learning, wellbeing programmes, educational consultancy and professional training. With new funding secured, increasing demand for our services and ambitions to expand our reach, we are looking to strengthen our Board with Directors who can help shape our next chapter.

Our current Board is made up of committed volunteer Directors who bring experience in education, governance and community engagement. As the organisation continues to grow, we recognise the importance of strengthening our expertise in financial oversight to ensure our growth is both sustainable and strategically planned.
Our new Finance Director will play a key role in supporting financial planning, reviewing budgets and forecasts, strengthening financial scrutiny and helping the Board make informed strategic decisions. They will provide guidance as we diversify our income streams, secure new funding and build long-term financial resilience.
This is a particularly exciting time to join our Board. We have ambitious plans to develop new programmes, expand our training and consultancy offer, increase our reach across communities and build a financially sustainable organisation that creates lasting impact for children, families, educators and communities.
You'll have the opportunity to influence key strategic decisions at a pivotal point in our development, helping to ensure that our growth remains sustainable, impactful and true to our mission.
