About the Role

For over 40 years, Agincare has remained proudly family-owned, growing from a local care provider into a diverse national organisation. Today, we operate from around 200 locations across the UK, delivering a wide range of care and support services and helping thousands of people live well every day.

Built on strong foundations and a respected reputation, we're now focused on the next chapter of our growth. Continued investment in our people, systems and infrastructure is creating a more connected, efficient and scalable organisation, and we're looking for an exceptional Finance Director to help optimise performance into the future.

Reporting to the Group CFO, you'll lead a finance function of around 40 colleagues, overseeing financial operations across more than 40 legal entities within a complex and evolving organisation due to hit £243m turnover this year, and employing close to 6,000 team members. This is far more than a technical finance role. We're looking for an accomplished leader who can develop people, simplify complexity, strengthen controls and help shape a finance function that supports the ambitions of a growing business.

Working closely with the CFO, CEO and senior leadership team, you'll be a trusted partner who combines financial discipline with commercial insight and operational understanding. Most importantly, this role is a key part of Agincare's long-term succession planning and offers a genuine opportunity to develop into a future Group CFO position.

What you'll lead

This is a broad leadership role with significant influence across the Group. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a finance team of around 40 colleagues, creating a culture of accountability, excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Overseeing finance operations across a complex multi-entity structure, ensuring robust controls, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Driving finance transformation, process simplification and systems integration projects that enable future growth.
  • Partnering with operational and senior leaders to provide insight, challenge and support informed decision-making.
  • Leading treasury management, cashflow forecasting and financial risk management activities.
  • Building strong relationships with auditors, banks, advisers and key external stakeholders.
  • Supporting group budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and long-term financial planning.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About you

You'll be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a proven track record of leading sizeable finance teams within complex, multi-site organisations, probably as a Financial Controller or Head of Finance.

You'll bring strong technical expertise, but what will really set you apart is your ability to lead people and drive positive change. You'll enjoy building capability within teams, developing future leaders and creating an environment where people can perform at their best.

You'll be commercially minded, operationally aware and comfortable working in partnership with senior stakeholders. Most importantly, you'll be looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact while preparing yourself for the next stage of your career.

Ideally, you'll bring experience of:

  • Multi-entity group structures.
  • Large-scale, multi-site operations.
  • Organisations with turnover exceeding £100m.
  • Founder-led or family-owned businesses.
  • High-volume workforce environments and payroll operations.
  • NetSuite or similar ERP platforms.
