Position: Finance Expert — Model Risk, Compliance & Payments
Type: Contract
Compensation: $70–$91/hour
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate model inventories, tiering, validation approaches, monitoring, governance, and control frameworks.
- Analyze card authorization and settlement, chargebacks, ACH and wire reconciliation, and related payment operations.
- Assess fraud controls, AML and sanctions processes, escalation logic, and operational risk.
- Identify control gaps, unsupported assumptions, weak evidence, and incomplete documentation.
- Write clear rationales that connect findings to risk, policy, and operational consequences.
- Review and calibrate analytical work against professional model-risk and compliance standards.

Qualifications
Must-Have
- 6–12 years of relevant experience for the practitioner track, or 10–16 years for the senior reviewer track.
- Professional experience in model risk management, model validation, compliance, payments, fraud, AML, sanctions, or adjacent financial-services controls.
- Direct knowledge of one or more payments rails and the operational risks around them.
- Strong understanding of governance, documentation, testing, monitoring, and issue remediation.
- Excellent written communication and the ability to make risk judgments precise and auditable.
