The Graduate Opportunity

As a Finance Graduate, you'll gain broad exposure to the teams and activities that help drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making across Arriva.

Over the course of the programme, you'll complete three rotations across a range of finance disciplines, which may include Tax, Treasury, Accounting & Reporting, and Forecasting & Budgeting. Along the way, you'll develop technical expertise, commercial awareness and a deeper understanding of how finance supports business performance and growth.

You'll have opportunities to contribute to business projects, collaborate with colleagues across different functions and gain insight into the financial and commercial decisions that help drive our organisation forward.

Location: This role can be based at either our Sunderland or London office and operates on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.

What We’re Looking For

We're not expecting you to have all the answers. We're looking for graduates with curiosity, drive and the confidence to keep learning. People who take ownership, build positive relationships and want to make a meaningful contribution from day one.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
