The H.W.Kaufman London Finance Department is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of 11 entities (with two of those being newly formed MGA’s based in London and Dubai). The London Finance Department works closely alongside the US Group Finance function providing monthly information and reports for consolidation into the US numbers. This is an exciting time to join as there are multiple initiatives, projects, and technology implementations happening across the business of which finance will be a key stakeholder.

Finance Graduate Role

This role will develop core finance skills rotating throughout the finance function gaining experience in financial reporting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and financial operations.

The role will receive both financial support and study leave towards a recognised professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA).

The role will initially report to the Head of Finance, however the graduate will ultimately look to specialise in a specific finance area where the reporting line will be aligned.

Key responsibilities

  • Engage in structured rotations across the finance team to gain varied functional and technical experience.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial processes and reporting tools.
  • Participate in finance transformation projects to generate efficiencies, including automation of processes.
  • Provide treasury assistance including raising cash payments, daily cash reporting, and supporting fx trades.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and forecasts across business units.
  • Assist with variance analysis and provide insights to help explain financial performance.
  • Taking ownership of elements of the close process once experience allows.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Achieve a professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA) with full financial & study support.

Knowledge and experience required

  • Degree majoring in finance/accounting is preferred or business with modelling capabilities.
  • A positive and can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and work supportively and jointly with colleagues across the business
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and comfortable challenging the status quo
  • Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise and organise own workload.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) demonstrated by keeping others informed with appropriate progress updates
  • Ability to work independently but as part of a team, collaborating and helping support the finance function
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Be comfortable working within a changing environment
