Finance Graduate Role in Manchester

Description

  • Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to aid business decision-making.
  • Analyse financial and operational data, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support commercial objectives.
  • Contribute to financial planning and performance analysis, helping to drive efficiency and profitability.
  • Assist in the preparation of management information and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Support cash flow monitoring, financial controls, and other core finance activities as required.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance reporting and operational effectiveness.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues across multiple functions, gaining exposure to a broad range of business activities.

Profile

A Successful Finance Graduate Should Have

  • A degree in Accountancy & Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, or another numerically focused discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent numerical ability and confidence working with large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong aptitude for learning new systems and tools.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding how financial performance drives business success.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn and develop within a finance career.
