Job Description

Put your studies into practice while helping shape the future of Britain's energy system. At EDF, Success is Personal. Through our Finance Industrial Placement, you'll gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced professionals and develop valuable skills, all while contributing to projects that support a more electrified, low-carbon future.

The Opportunity

This Finance Industrial Placement at EDF EPR Engineering UK, expected to begin in early September 2027, offers a starting salary of £26,050 and the opportunity to support financial operations on one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure programmes.

During this 12-month placement, you'll gain practical experience across a range of finance activities while supporting teams delivering Hinkley Point C. You'll develop commercial awareness, analytical skills and industry knowledge while contributing to a business supporting the journey towards An Electric Britain.

What You'll Experience

EDF EPR Engineering delivers the design for nuclear island buildings, systems, and equipment for Hinkley Point C and similar projects. Working as part of an integrated team, EPR Engineering supports construction and commissioning while preparing design-replication feasibility and related engineering activities.

During your Finance Industrial Placement, you'll gain first-hand experience of financial operations within a major infrastructure programme. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you'll develop your understanding of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial controls while supporting business decision-making.

This placement offers the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained through your studies to real business challenges, build professional confidence and develop transferable skills that will support your future career in finance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
