Are you a Project Finance Solicitor with 1+ years' PQE looking to develop your career within one of the UK's leading Infrastructure, Projects & Energy practices?

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the London Infrastructure, Projects & Energy team of a prestigious international law firm, working alongside market-leading partners on complex UK and cross-border project finance transactions across the energy and infrastructure sectors. You'll advise sponsors, lenders, developers, funds and public sector clients on high-value financings that support some of the world's most significant infrastructure and energy projects.

About the Team

The Infrastructure, Projects & Energy team is one of the most established multidisciplinary practices in the market, advising clients throughout the full lifecycle of major energy and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally.

The team acts for sponsors, developers, infrastructure funds, financial institutions, export credit agencies, development finance institutions, sovereign wealth funds, utilities, contractors and government bodies on complex project financings, acquisitions, refinancing's and secondary market transactions.

Lawyers advise across a broad range of sectors including conventional and nuclear power, offshore and onshore wind, solar, hydropower, battery storage, LNG, industrial gases, transport, ports and logistics, social infrastructure, waste-to-energy, electric vehicles and other strategic infrastructure assets. The practice is particularly well known for advising on innovative, first-of-their-kind transactions involving sophisticated multi-source financing structures, including commercial bank debt, ECAs, DFIs and capital markets funding.

The team offers associates exceptional breadth of work, significant responsibility and the opportunity to develop genuine sector expertise within a highly collaborative and supportive environment.

The Role

This opportunity is ideal for a Project Finance Solicitor with at least 1 year's PQE who is looking to accelerate their career within a highly regarded international Infrastructure, Projects & Energy practice.

Working closely with three market-leading partners specialising in power, renewables and wider energy and infrastructure finance, you will advise on a broad range of domestic and international project finance transactions, supporting clients from initial structuring through to financial close, refinancing and ongoing project development.

Your work will include:

  • Advising on complex UK and cross-border project finance transactions across the energy and infrastructure sectors.
  • Drafting and negotiating finance documentation, including facility agreements, security documentation and intercreditor arrangements.
  • Supporting the structuring and execution of multi-source financings involving commercial banks, ECAs, DFIs and capital markets participants.
  • Advising on refinancing's, restructurings, secondary market transactions, acquisitions and joint ventures.
  • Undertaking due diligence on project documentation and advising on bankability issues across construction, offtake and operation & maintenance contracts.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Corporate, Construction, Real Estate and other specialist practice areas on large-scale multidisciplinary transactions.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with 1+ years' PQE gained within a recognised Banking & Finance, Project Finance or Infrastructure practice.
  • Experience advising on project finance transactions, including finance documentation such as facility agreements, security packages and intercreditor arrangements.
  • Exposure to infrastructure or energy transactions, with an interest in developing expertise across cross-border and multi-source financings.
  • Strong technical drafting skills, commercial awareness and an understanding of project finance transaction structures.
  • Calm and organised under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams across complex transactions involving numerous stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and inquisitive approach, with the ambition to build trusted client relationships and develop specialist expertise within a market-leading practice.
