Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

LegacyX is a technology company developing innovative digital products, platforms and services. Our ecosystem includes Vortex, our social dating platform, LXDC, our digital creativity and digital asset platform, and LegacyX Services, our technology and digital services division.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to work closely with our CFO and gain practical experience in finance within a growing technology company.

About the Internship

This is a full-time, unpaid, experience-based internship designed to provide practical exposure to financial operations within a growing technology company.

The successful candidate will work directly alongside the CFO, supporting day-to-day financial activities while developing practical knowledge of accounting systems, financial reporting, bookkeeping and business finance.

A key part of the internship will be gaining hands-on experience using Xero, alongside developing an understanding of how finance operates within a technology startup.

Working Hours

Monday–Friday 9:00am–3:00pm UK Time

The internship will be conducted remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CFO on day-to-day financial activities.
  • Assist with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Gain practical experience using Xero for financial administration and bookkeeping.
  • Assist with recording and organising company transactions.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and management information.
  • Assist with monitoring income, expenditure and cash flow.
  • Help maintain and organise financial documentation.
  • Assist with invoice and expense tracking.
  • Support the CFO with budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Assist with preparing financial information for management and investor purposes.
  • Help reconcile financial records and identify discrepancies for review by the CFO.
  • Assist with financial research and analysis.
  • Support the CFO with fundraising-related financial information and due diligence preparation.
  • Gain exposure to financial controls, compliance and company finance processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling financial and company information.

Xero Experience

A major objective of this internship is to provide the successful candidate with practical Xero experience. You will have the opportunity to learn how Xero is used within a business environment, including areas such as:

  • Bookkeeping
  • Transaction recording
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Invoicing
  • Expense management
  • Financial reporting
  • Organising financial records
  • General financial administration

Previous Xero experience is not required, as training and guidance will be provided.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Interested in accounting, finance or business.

  • Willing to learn new accounting software.
  • Interested in gaining practical Xero experience.

Desirable

  • Studying or recently completed a qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or a related subject.
  • Previous bookkeeping or finance experience.
  • Previous experience with Xero or another accounting platform.
  • Good knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
