The Role 🎯
Specter is bootstrapped and growing fast. Our finance, legal admin, HR, and compliance processes are still being built, and we're hiring a Finance Intern to help build them with the founders.
This is a 6-month, paid, London-based internship. From your first week you'll work on the company's operational and financial backbone: payables and receivables, contracts, HR processes, and compliance. You'll get real responsibility with close support, and your scope grows as you earn trust.
We're looking for a student or recent graduate in finance, law, business, or economics who's sharp with numbers, curious about how companies actually run, and careful with sensitive information.
What You'll Be Doing 🚀
- Run invoicing and payment tracking, chase overdue receivables, and keep the founders' view of cash up to date.
- Prepare first drafts of NDAs and standard vendor agreements, and flag clauses for founder or external counsel review.
- Support payroll, HR documentation, onboarding, and policy upkeep.
- Help with client compliance checks and UK visa admin.
- Coordinate with our accountants and service providers on day-to-day requests.

Who You Are 🧩
- Studying or recently graduated in finance, law, business, economics, or similar.
- Some exposure to finance, legal, HR, or operations through an internship, society role, or side project. An interest in startups or VC is a plus.
- Comfortable with numbers and contracts. You don't need to be an accountant or a lawyer, but neither should put you off.
- Discreet with sensitive information: payroll, personal data, visa status, financials.
- Organised and process-minded, so nothing falls through the cracks.
- A clear, confident communicator on email and calls.
- High-agency. You take a messy admin problem, ask the right questions, and get it solved.
