Finance Lead
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance Lead based in United Kingdom.
This is a high-ownership finance leadership opportunity within a lean, fast-moving technology environment. You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function while serving as a trusted strategic partner to senior leadership. The role combines FP&A, financial modeling, cash management, reporting, treasury, and operational finance. You’ll help leadership make informed decisions by providing accurate forecasts, actionable insights, and strong financial discipline. Working with a small internal team and external accounting, tax, and audit providers, you’ll have significant autonomy to shape how finance operates. The role is ideal for someone who thrives with responsibility, limited structure, and the opportunity to build efficient financial processes that support sustainable growth.
Accountabilities
- Own the annual budgeting process, maintain operating forecasts and runway models, and provide financial analysis to support business planning and capital allocation.
- Develop business metrics, financial models, and performance reporting that give leadership clear and actionable visibility into company performance.
- Manage cash forecasting, liquidity planning, banking relationships, operational controls, and treasury-related activities.
- Monitor short- and long-term capital requirements and help ensure the organization maintains appropriate liquidity.
- Coordinate monthly and annual financial reporting, including board, investor, and management reporting packages.
- Oversee accounting close processes through external providers and ensure financial information is accurate and delivered on time.
- Manage relationships with external accounting, tax, audit, and other financial service providers, ensuring compliance obligations are completed efficiently.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities through the internal finance team.
- Maintain finance policies, procedures, and internal controls appropriate to the organization's size and stage.
- Support leadership with strategic and special projects, providing financial analysis and recommendations as required.
- Operate as a proactive finance partner to leadership, balancing financial discipline with the flexibility required in a high-growth environment.
- Build a finance function that operates efficiently, cost-effectively, and with minimal day-to-day oversight.

Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant finance experience, with strong experience in FP&A, financial planning, and financial modeling.
- Proven experience working in startups, growth-stage companies, or venture-backed environments where ownership and adaptability are essential.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, liquidity planning, and financial performance analysis.
- Experience managing external accounting, tax, audit, and other financial service providers.
- Ability to operate independently in a lean organization with limited structure and significant responsibility.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, with the ability to turn complex financial information into practical business recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence partnering with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- High ownership mentality, strong attention to detail, and a bias toward action and problem-solving.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution across day-to-day finance operations.
- Experience with treasury management is a plus.
- Experience in crypto, digital assets, or blockchain is a plus.
- Experience with legal entity restructuring, board reporting, investor reporting, or international organizations is advantageous.
