Looking for your first Finance Lead opportunity where you can build a function from the ground up?
I'm working with an exciting VC-backed marketplace business that has secured significant funding within the last 12 months and is now entering its next phase of growth. With ambitious expansion plans and an exceptional founding team, they're looking for a commercially-minded Finance Lead to become their first dedicated finance hire.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly into a highly regarded founder, you'll have genuine influence over strategic decision-making while taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building and developing the finance function from the ground up
- Owning monthly management reporting, forecasting and budgeting
- Developing sophisticated financial models to support fundraising, commercial initiatives and strategic planning
- Partnering with the founder on business performance, pricing, growth initiatives and investor reporting
- Improving financial processes, controls and systems as the business scales
- Working closely with external accountants, advisors and investors
- Helping shape the long-term finance strategy, with the opportunity to build a team as the business grows

What They're Looking For:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
- Experience within a high-growth tech startup, marketplace or VC-backed business
- Exceptional financial modelling and analytical skills
- Highly commercial with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Comfortable operating autonomously and creating structure in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communicator who enjoys partnering with founders and investors
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ambition to help build something special
