Finance Manager (Reconciliations)
Manchester | Hybrid Working (2 days in the office)
18-Month FTC
£65,000 - £70,000 per annum + Bonus (dependent on experience)
Looking for an opportunity to lead a high-performing finance team while driving process improvement, automation and financial control?
We're partnering with a large, well-established organisation to appoint a Finance Manager within its Finance Operations function. This role will suit a qualified accountant with strong reconciliations experience, a passion for continuous improvement and a track record of developing teams within a complex environment.
The Role
You'll lead a team responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely accounting activities, ensuring strong governance across the balance sheet and supporting the wider finance transformation agenda. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team (4 to 6 staff)
- Ensuring the timely completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations, proactively investigating and resolving outstanding items and variances.
- Maintaining a robust financial control environment and ensuring compliance with internal policies and governance requirements.
- Driving standardisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes.
- Supporting the adoption and optimisation of finance systems and reconciliation tools.
- Partnering with stakeholders across Finance and Operations to identify process enhancements and resolve accounting issues.
- Acting as a key contact for internal and external audit activity, ensuring high-quality documentation and support is provided.
- Leading the team through change, supporting transformation projects and embedding new ways of working.
- Monitoring performance against key deliverables and ensuring service levels are achieved.

About You
We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with:

- Strong Financial Control or Finance Operations experience
- Significant balance sheet reconciliation and governance experience.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting processes and month-end close activities.
- Experience delivering process improvements, automation initiatives and operational change.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working within large ERP environments.
- A proactive approach and ability to thrive within a changing environment.
