Finance Manager
Location: North Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience + bonus
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Full time office based working
Client Details
We're looking for an experienced, commercially minded Finance Manager to join a growing business in North Manchester.
This will be a broad and varied role, you'll play an important role in managing the day-to-day financial operations, producing accurate management accounts, supporting budgeting and reporting, and ensuring robust financial processes are maintained.
Description
The key responsibilities of a Finance Manager will be:
- Oversee the day-to-day finance function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and invoicing.
- Manage bank reconciliations, supplier payments, credit control, and cash flow.
- Prepare weekly and monthly management accounts, P&L, and financial reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, month-end, and year-end processes.
- Manage VAT returns and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, suppliers.
- Monitor expenditure, budgets, and financial performance.
- Manage supplier accounts, contracts, and renewals.
- Oversee financial systems and processes, including SAGE.
- Identify and implement process and system improvements.
- Ensure financial procedures and reporting deadlines are consistently met.
- Support with financial analysis, budgeting, and business projects.

Profile
A successful Finance Manager will have:
- Previous experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior finance role.
- A recognised finance qualification or 5+ years' relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Management Accounts, AP, AR, reconciliations, and credit control.
- Experience with SAGE or a similar accounting system.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence producing financial reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
- Professional, reliable, and confident communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
