Finance Manager

Hertfordshire (Hybrid Working) £55,000 - £62,000 + 20% Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Are you a newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant looking to move into a highly visible commercial finance role within one of the UK's leading consumer-focused businesses?

Our client is a major UK retail organisation with a national footprint, thousands of employees and a reputation for innovation, growth and investment. Having nearly doubled in size over the last three years, the business continues to invest heavily in its estate, customer proposition and long-term growth strategy, creating outstanding career opportunities for ambitious finance professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or someone with up to 12 months' post-qualified experience to join a high-performing commercial finance team. You'll work closely with senior operational stakeholders, helping to influence key investment decisions, challenge performance and drive commercial outcomes across a large, complex business.

The Opportunity

Reporting into a senior finance leader, you'll act as a true finance business partner, providing financial insight and commercial challenge to support investment decisions and strategic projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Building robust financial models and business cases to support investment decisions
  • Providing commercial analysis to evaluate project and operational performance
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across operations, property, development and wider business functions
  • Monitoring investment spend and return on investment metrics
  • Delivering meaningful insight around risks, opportunities and performance trends
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities
  • Presenting financial information and recommendations to non-finance stakeholders

About You

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded accountant who wants to develop beyond traditional reporting and become a genuine business partner.

You'll ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Up to 1 year post-qualified experience
  • Experience gained within a large, complex organisation
  • Strong commercial finance or business partnering exposure
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills
  • The confidence to engage with and challenge senior stakeholders
  • The ability to translate financial data into clear business insight

Experience from retail, FMCG, hospitality, consumer goods, logistics or another fast-paced multi-site environment would be highly beneficial.
