Job Title: Finance Manager
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 DOE (some flex for the right candidate)
Location: Southampton
Qualifications: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
Marks Sattin are partnering with a well-established manufacturing business in Southampton who are looking for a Finance Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. This opportunity offers long-term progression into Financial Controller and Finance Director roles, an impressive salary and benefits package, commercial responsibility and exposure, and hybrid working.

- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Analyse financial performance, manufacturing costs, margins, and operational KPIs.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor working capital, cash flow, inventory, and capital expenditure.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Develop and maintain standard costing and product costing.
- Analyse production, labour, material, and overhead variances.
- Monitor stock controls, inventory valuation, and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Act as a key contact for HMRC, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
- Translate complex financial information into practical recommendations.
- Challenge performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Support, mentor, and develop finance team members.

What's Essential
- Must be fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Solid, proven experience in the manufacturing sector with a strong understanding of manufacturing-specific accounting processes including BOMs and standard costing.
- Experience managing VAT, PAYE, payroll accounting, and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced Excel knowledge.
What's Desirable
- Experience in private equity environments.
