The Role
Coordinate accounts payable and receivable, payment workflows and collections, giving the Finance Assistant clear priorities and resolving queries with the wider business. Manage the month-end timetable, ensuring journals, accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules are completed, and contribute to management accounts and variance commentary. Review balance-sheet and bank reconciliations, investigate exceptions and aged items, and support cash monitoring and intercompany reconciliations. Coordinate payroll inputs, employee expenses and supplier records, and maintain supporting fixed-asset schedules. Prepare monthly commission calculations, checking inputs and variances before approval and payment. Maintain process documentation and audit evidence, working with the Financial Controller and treasury colleagues to strengthen controls and reduce manual work.

What We're Looking For
A professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent professional experience. The source profile seeks three to five years of relevant finance experience and at least one year post-qualification for qualified candidates. Practical experience across AP, AR, reconciliations, month-end close and management accounts, with the confidence to take responsibility for recurring deadlines. Good Excel skills, including lookups, SUMIFS and pivot tables, alongside experience with Xero or comparable accounting software. The ability to investigate discrepancies, organise competing priorities and communicate clearly with senior finance colleagues and operational teams. An interest in improving processes and using finance systems to make work more accurate and less manual.

Useful Additional Experience
A broad finance background in financial services, an SME or a multi-entity business would be helpful. Payroll, expenses and reporting experience are relevant, as is familiarity with payroll or expense-management systems and Power BI or similar reporting tools.
