Finance Manager

Financial Management / FP&A / Strategic Business Support

A well-established company is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join its Finance team in East Lancashire.

You will be responsible for leading the finance function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, treasury, statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit activities. You will also play an important role within the Senior Management Team, supporting strategic business decisions and working closely with the Japanese Head Office.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and re-forecasting processes
  • Conduct detailed margin and profitability analysis by customer, platform, product and process
  • Support Operations and Commercial teams by linking operational and commercial decisions to profitability
  • Maintain and develop the costing system and drive cost-saving strategies
  • Lead monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews, budget variance analysis and EBT bridge analysis
  • Manage treasury activities, liaise with banks and develop cost-efficient borrowing strategies with Head Office
  • Support the Managing Director and Senior Management Team with strategic decisions and mid- to long-term business planning
  • Lead year-end processes including statutory accounts preparation and audit work
  • Liaise with the Japanese Head Office on monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, J-SOX and other statutory requirements
  • Maintain Companies House and company secretarial records
  • Manage, organise and develop the Finance team
  • Develop the company’s IT strategy, manage outsourced IT personnel and oversee IT budgets, KPIs and compliance

Ideal Candidate:

Essential

  • CIMA / ACCA qualified
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly Excel
  • Experience with Sage
  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
  • Methodical approach to work

  • Good understanding of payroll procedures
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley procedural controls
  • Experience working with Japanese Head Office reporting requirements
  • Experience with J-SOX
  • Fluency in Japanese is advantageous

  • Salary: depending on experience
  • Job Type: 6-month fixed-term contract (Possible future permanent position)
