Role: Finance Manager
Reporting to: Finance Director
Location: Cheshire (hybrid)
Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 + bonus (20%)
Medlock Partners are delighted to be assisting our client, a SME division of a large FMCG group, as they look to appoint a highly experienced and competent Finance Manager following a recent restructure.
Reporting to the Divisional Finance Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for leading the financial management and reporting activities across the business, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, effective budgeting, and commercial decision support.
The role partners closely with operational and commercial leaders to drive business performance, support strategic decision-making, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and ensure the organisation's financial sustainability while maintaining high standards of governance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Finance Manager (Site)
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Monitor business performance through the analysis of financial results, KPIs, and management information.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
- Act as a strategic business partner to all members of the Senior Management Team, understanding operational priorities and providing financial guidance to support business performance and profitability.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting to support informed decision-making across the organisation.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations on investments, capital expenditure, business cases, and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure strong financial governance and compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Oversee cash flow management to support business stability and growth.
- Support business transformation, change initiatives, and continuous improvement projects through financial analysis and planning.
- Develop costing models and profitability analysis across products, customers, and operational activities.

Skills & Experience Required

- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Extensive demonstrable experience in a senior finance role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insights.
- Experience in developing and maintaining robust financial controls and governance frameworks.
- SAP or similar ERP System experience.
- Advanced Excel user, comfortable with pivot tables, V-look ups, etc.
The successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, an understanding of high-volume, fast-paced operations, expertise in financial planning and analysis, cost control, and business partnering, with the ability to deliver insights that support profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making.
