White Horse Employment are delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established SME to recruit a newly created Finance Manager position.

The business is a successful SME operating within a specialist environment, supplying a diverse customer base across multiple markets. With continued growth and investment, the organisation is looking to strengthen its finance function with the appointment of an experienced finance professional who can take ownership of a broad remit.

This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant or Finance Manager to take genuine ownership of a broad finance role. You will play a key role in producing management accounts, analysing business performance and providing meaningful financial insight to senior stakeholders and operational leaders. This is a hands-on and commercially focused position offering significant visibility and the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing business.

Responsibilities

  • Own the month-end process through to the production of accurate management accounts
  • Prepare KPI reporting, variance analysis and meaningful financial commentary
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Support VAT, R&D tax claims, year-end audit and statutory reporting
  • Provide financial insight across the manufacturing operation, including inventory, cost accounting and margin analysis
  • Drive improvements across finance processes, systems and reporting
  • Work closely with operational and senior leadership teams to support commercial decision-making

Key Requirements

  • Experience within an SME environment, ideally in a hands-on Management Accountant or Finance Manager role
  • Strong month-end and management accounts experience
  • Qualified or qualified by experience
  • Commercially minded with experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Proactive, hands-on and confident working with senior stakeholders
