Finance Manager (9-Month FTC – Temp to Perm Opportunity)
Location: Bedford
Salary: Up to £75,000 (DOE)
Nirvana Search is partnering with a highly successful, Private Equity-backed business services group to recruit a versatile Finance Manager. This role sits within one of their key subsidiary businesses based in Bedford.
Operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the business is looking for a proactive finance professional to take ownership of the subsidiary's numbers on an initial 9-month fixed-term contract, with a strong potential for the role to become permanent.
This is a truly all-encompassing, hands-on position. You will be the go-to finance lead for the subsidiary, requiring a "roll-up-your-sleeves" approach where no task is too big or too small.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Finance: Taking full ownership of the day-to-day finance function, from core transactional duties through to the preparation of full management accounts.
- Payroll & Compliance: Managing the payroll processes for the subsidiary and ensuring all local compliance and statutory requirements are met.
- Core Accounting: Handling all prepayments, accruals, VAT returns, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Business Partnering: Acting as the primary finance contact for the subsidiary's leadership team, while also reporting directly into the wider PE-backed group structure.
- Process Improvement: Identifying areas to streamline accounts processes, improve data accuracy, and drive efficiencies across the division.

The Candidate
- A proven track record as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller, ideally within an SME, subsidiary, or PE-backed environment.
- A highly adaptable, hands-on operator who is completely comfortable getting into the weeds of transactional finance and payroll, whilst still delivering accurate high-level reporting.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business services environment.
- Immediately available or available on short notice to commit to a 9-month FTC.
