Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be supporting a small but successful organisation in the Worcester area with the recruitment of a Finance Manager on a permanent basis. Operating within the construction space, our client is an award-winning business with a broad range of expertise and project delivery across various sectors.

Your new role

Reporting into the Financial Controller and working closely with the SLT, you will be responsible for managing the company's day-to-day financial activities.

Key duties:

  • Production of monthly management accounts and Board reports
  • Leading cashflow management process and supporting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Overseeing payroll, VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
  • Developing and improving financial processes, systems and reporting capabilities
  • Aid strategic decision-making and help drive operational efficiency
  • Providing commercial insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Supporting year-end accounts and audit
  • Mentoring finance team members

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Experience managing cash flow, controls and commercial decision support
  • Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Practical and hands-on approach to work
  • Highly proficient with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps, SumIFs etc.) and accounting software (Sage/Access highly advantageous)
