Job Description
About your role:
This role is ideal for a newly ACA-qualified finance professional looking to make their first move from a medium-sized accountancy practice into industry. Reporting to the Business Finance Officer, you will take on a broad, hands-on Finance Manager role in a growing business at the heart of the UK energy transition.
It would suit someone who has gained useful exposure in practice to areas such as reporting, audit, controls, and financial analysis, and is ready to build on that experience in a commercial setting. The role is broad and varied, working across TI, our joint ventures and projects, with exposure to areas including VAT, cashflow forecasting, treasury and liquidity reporting, project reporting, reforecasting, and budgeting.
Our hybrid approach supports work-life balance while creating opportunities for colleagues to collaborate and learn together. For most roles, this means working from our London office two days per week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting statutory and external reporting.
- Preparing cashflow forecasts, treasury and liquidity reporting.
- Maintaining the fixed asset register and posting depreciation entries.
- Producing management, project, and cost reporting, including variance analysis.
- Supporting quarterly reforecasting and annual budget preparation.
- Reporting purchase order commitments and timesheet information once implemented.
- Working with colleagues across the business to provide clear, practical financial information.
What we’re looking for:
- ACA qualified.
- Experience gained in a medium-sized accountancy practice.
- Likely to be looking for a first move into industry after training in practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
