Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, reporting directly to the senior leadership team and playing a key role in supporting business performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, balance sheets, and trial balances
- Managing cash flow
- Overseeing payroll, VAT returns, and pension submissions
- Ensuring the smooth running of all transactional finance activities
- Handling banking activities, foreign currency transactions, board reporting
- Supporting the annual audit process
Working within a small and collaborative team, this is a broad, hands-on role that offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to both financial and operational decision-making across the business.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience in a broad, hands-on finance position, ideally within an SME environment
- Confidence in preparing management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts
- Experience overseeing transactional finance processes, payroll, and VAT returns
- Experience using Sage accounting systems, particularly Sage 200, would be highly advantageous
- Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- A proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
