Finance Manager - Renewable Energy & Infrastructure
London
Sector: Renewable Energy / Infrastructure
Salary: £70,000 + excellent benefits
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a high-growth renewable energy business backed by a major international investment group.
The business is part of a wider portfolio focused on the transition to a lower-carbon economy, with significant investment being made across renewable energy infrastructure, the electrification of homes and businesses, and electric transport.
With ambitious growth plans and access to substantial institutional capital, the business is developing and investing in renewable energy projects and is expected to become an increasingly important part of the wider group's investment portfolio.
As part of this growth, the business is looking to appoint a Finance Manager to work closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership team.
This is a broad and commercially focused finance position offering exposure to FP&A, investment analysis, capital planning, financing, M&A, and senior stakeholder engagement. It would particularly suit an ambitious qualified accountant looking to move into, or further develop their career within, renewable energy, infrastructure, or private capital.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will take ownership of key elements of financial planning, forecasting, and reporting while supporting a range of strategic investment and financing activities.
The role sits close to senior decision-making and will involve working with stakeholders across the business, the wider shareholder group, and debt and equity partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead key elements of the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning process.
- Provide clear financial analysis and insight to senior management and investors.
- Build and develop financial models supporting capital allocation, equity funding, investment returns, and long-term value creation.
- Support debt and equity financing initiatives, including potential joint ventures and other funding structures.
- Provide financial support for M&A and strategic transactions, including integration activity where appropriate.
- Produce detailed variance, trend, scenario, and sensitivity analysis to support investment and commercial decisions.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to translate complex financial information into clear commercial recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting and planning through automation, technology, and AI.
- Own key elements of the monthly management reporting process, providing insightful commentary on business and project performance.
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast across both developing and operational assets.
- Develop scenario-based forecasts to support strategic planning and risk management.
- Maintain the company's cash flow forecasting and provide visibility over future liquidity and funding requirements.
- Review VAT reporting against expected project expenditure and investigate material variances.
- Improve the quality, efficiency, and scalability of finance processes as the organisation grows.
- Help develop a finance function capable of supporting an increasingly complex and expanding investment portfolio.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Exposure to any of the following would be advantageous, although not essential:
- Renewable energy or infrastructure.
- Private equity, private capital, or investment-backed businesses.
- Project finance or debt financing.
- M&A or transaction-related activity.
- Capital allocation and investment appraisal.
- Automation and AI tools used within finance.
This is an opportunity to join a well-capitalised, high-growth business operating in one of the most significant long-term investment themes: the transition to renewable energy and electrification.

For an ambitious finance professional, it provides a strong platform to develop towards a senior finance leadership role within the energy, infrastructure, or investment sectors.
