Role Description

The Finance Manager role is a part-time, on-site position based in Elgin. The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations for a key client based in Elgin, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, bookkeeping, and team leadership. Responsibilities include monitoring accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, supporting tax preparation activities, and providing financial analysis to guide business decisions. The role will also involve collaborating with management to refine financial strategies, optimizing processes for efficiency, and contributing to client-centered financial solutions. The Finance Manager will maintain clear documentation and help uphold Northgate’s standards of accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in financial management and accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Candidates should possess solid knowledge of bookkeeping practices and tax-related processes, including compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Candidates should possess analytical skills for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and supporting strategic business decisions.
  • Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting and office software (QuickBooks, Excel, and financial analysis tools).
  • Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-specialists.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a part-time schedule.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., degree in finance, accounting, or related field; ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) are highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience in an accounting or financial management role, ideally within a small to medium-sized business or professional services environment, is an advantage.
