Job Description

Finance Manager

Location: Thorpe Park, Leeds, Hybrid working.

At Lowell, we're transforming the way Finance supports the business, and we're looking for Finance Managers to join us on that journey. If you're a qualified accountant who enjoys taking ownership, building strong relationships and finding better ways of doing things, we'd love to hear from you.

You’ll play an important role in delivering accurate, insightful financial information that helps drive decision-making across the Group. We're looking for people who are confident in their expertise, take pride in delivering high-quality work and are willing to challenge the way things have always been done when there's a smarter approach.

As a Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of key accounting and financial control activities, including month-end and year-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and the integrity of financial information within your area. You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, providing insight, support and challenge where needed. You'll also have the opportunity to share your knowledge and experience, helping to develop and support colleagues earlier in their careers.

This role is about more than producing accurate numbers. As we continue to automate and modernise our processes, we're looking for people who can think critically, use their judgement and focus on what really adds value. You'll be encouraged to identify opportunities for improvement, challenge inefficiencies and contribute to building a more streamlined, insight-led Finance function that supports the future of Lowell.

What we'd like to see

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in a financial control, management accounting or financial reporting environment.
  • Strong understanding of month-end, year-end and balance sheet accounting processes.
  • A track record of building trusted relationships and working effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting, coaching or developing less experienced colleagues.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing processes and drive positive change.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
