Chicken Cottage is seeking a qualified Finance Manager to join the Senior Management Team (SMT) to drive strategic financial planning, regulatory compliance, and administrative excellence.

Reporting directly to the CEO/COO, this role will play a key part in guiding business decision-making and shaping organizational culture.

Role Overview

  • Job Title: Finance Manager
  • Reporting To: CEO / COO (as part of the Senior Management Team)
  • Line Management: Finance, purchasing, and sales teams (managing up to 2 direct positions)
  • Support Network: Supported by Sales, Purchasing, IT, and HR

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Financial Leadership: Contribute to strategic planning, day-to-day organizational management, and SMT decision-making.
  • Financial Accounting & Reporting: Deliver monthly management accounts, balance sheet controls, and financial reporting to IFRS standards.
  • Planning & Analysis: Manage 3-year planning, budgeting, periodic re-forecasts, and ad-hoc financial analyses to assess stream profitability and cost efficiencies.
  • Compliance & Statutory Governance: Lead external audit liaisons, manage taxation and company secretarial filings, and handle external reporting to Global HQ and Companies House.
  • Financial Controls & Operations: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, credit control, cash book returns, ledgers, and journal entries.
  • HR, Payroll & Operations: Manage payroll operation, PAYE, pension schemes, HR policy adherence, insurance coverage, and office/property management, including Health & Safety compliance.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, provide on-the-job training, and mentor team members.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA accountant with relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Extensive background in financial/statutory accounting, IFRS standards, budgeting, and financial controls.
  • Proven track record in staff management, team training, and line management.
  • Knowledge of legal, personnel, tax, and company secretarial requirements.
  • High level of IT literacy.
  • Passion for Chicken Cottage International’s aims and ethos.
