This position is Hybrid, working from our Glasgow or Edinburgh office 2 days a week.

As our Finance Manager, you will lead, mentor, and influence core financial processes that fuel our growth. You will be more than just managing numbers; you will be a trusted partner to operational teams, helping elevate our finance function into a strategic growth driver. Whether guiding daily accounting operations, supporting budgeting, or empowering team members through mentorship, your collaborative mindset and analytical insight will make a tangible impact across the business.
Key Aspects of the Role Include
- Overseeing Financial Operations & Compliance: Managing day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash forecasts, and month-end close processes while ensuring compliance with VAT returns, statutory deadlines, and audit requirements.
- Management Reporting & Budgeting: Preparing monthly management accounts, monitoring departmental spend, and sharing clear insights to support variance tracking and future budgeting.
- Process Improvement & Modernisation: Identifying operational efficiencies, safeguarding data integrity, and leveraging modern digital automation tools to elevate our software workflows.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translating complex financial data into actionable insights for non-finance line managers and partnering closely with operations staff.
- Mentorship & Team Growth: Fostering a supportive culture of continuous learning by guiding, encouraging, and upskilling junior finance team members.
- Upholding Integrity & Ethics: Maintaining exceptional accuracy, confidentiality, and high professional standards across all financial practices.

What You'll Bring
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) or equivalent, paired with demonstrable experience in financial operations and management accounting.
- A track record of overseeing daily finance workflows, maintaining VAT compliance, managing month-end close, and preparing for year-end audits.
- A strong commercial mindset with the ability to link financial performance to broader business goals.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel & Google Sheets) and modern accounting software and automation tools.
- A collaborative, growth-oriented leadership style with a passion for supporting and guiding junior team members.
