Finance Manager - Biggleswade - £55,000 - £75,000

Robert Walters are partnering with a leading specialist manufacturing and distribution group to recruit a Finance Manager for their UK team based in Biggleswade.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognised organisation specialising in sustainable packaging solutions, with a strong focus on innovation, growth and continuous improvement. As Finance Manager, you will have a broad remit spanning financial reporting, commercial finance, business partnering and finance transformation, working closely with senior leaders and operational teams across the UK.

The Opportunity

What you'll do

As Finance Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day financial processes of assigned UK entities while acting as a key finance business partner to operational and commercial teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, stock analysis and variance analysis.
  • Overseeing transactional finance activities across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger.
  • Supporting cash collection, cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Presenting monthly financial performance and key commercial insights to the UK Leadership Team.
  • Acting as a trusted finance business partner to operational and commercial stakeholders across the UK.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes.
  • Monitoring pricing, product margins and project costings to ensure accurate financial information.
  • Travelling to UK sites where required to support business partnering, operational reviews and finance projects.
  • Ensuring statutory and tax reporting requirements are met, working with external advisors where appropriate.
  • Supporting annual audits and implementing recommendations to strengthen financial controls.
  • Delivering finance transformation and process improvement projects.
  • Developing internal controls, processes and systems to improve efficiency and automation.
  • Maintaining and enhancing ERP systems to support the evolving needs of the wider Group.
  • Providing wider support across the finance function and taking ownership of additional projects as required.

What you'll bring

You will ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • At least five years' post-qualification experience within manufacturing
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proven experience in finance business partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity or group reporting environment.
  • A track record of delivering process improvements, finance transformation or systems projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls and governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to adapt within a growing and acquisitive business.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

On Offer

This Finance Manager role is based in Biggleswade in Bedfordshire and the salary is £55,000 to £65,000 depending on experience and it will suit either someone looking to step up into this role or someone who already has experience in a similar role.
