About the Role

This position reports to the Head of Finance and will be key in delivering excellent financial control and leveraging technology and automation to simplify processes and improve efficiency. The Finance manager role is broad with one direct report and ownership over internal reporting, financial control, business performance, and commercial finance with opportunities to partner with key stakeholders across the business.

This is the ideal role for a highly motivated qualified accountant looking to combine strong financial control with commercial insight, passionate about leveraging technology and automation in a fast-paced scaling business.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of management reporting, ensuring completeness and accuracy in accordance with accounting policies and UKGAAP
  • Preparation of monthly management reporting and management of the month-end close process
  • Monitoring company performance and production of financial analysis and insights to support decision making
  • Partnering with key stakeholders across the business
  • Leading the budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
  • Driving process and control improvements across the finance organisation

What You Will Do

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of business transactions
  • Manage month-end close including completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce high-quality Management Reporting with variance analysis and insights
  • Identify system improvements, opportunities for technology-driven automation, and the implementation of the changes required
  • Management of short-term cash flow forecasting
  • Oversee sales invoices and customer billing
  • Ownership and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Supporting department heads with cost tracking and financial management
  • Resolution of day-to-day finance/accounting queries
  • Supporting with year-end external audit process

Requirements

Ideally, you will have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Strong technical knowledge of UKGAAP
  • Passionate about the use of technology in automation and process simplification
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve
  • Highly organized with the ability to plan ahead and deliver accurate information to agreed timelines
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, and able to prioritize, project manage, and work across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with different teams
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills
  • Experience of Netsuite would be an advantage
